Analysis of Heat Exchange Rate for Low-Depth Modular Ground Heat Exchanger through Real-Scale Experiment

A ground source heat pump system is a high-performance technology used for maintaining stable underground temperature all year-round. However, the high costs installation, such as boring and drilling, drawback that prevents to be rapidly introduced into market. This study proposes modular exchanger (GHX) can compensate disadvantages (such high-boring/drilling costs) of conventional vertical GHX. Through real-scale experiment, GHX was manufactured buried at depth 4 m below level; exchange rate change in temperatures during operation were tracked calculated. The average exchanges 78.98 W/m 88.83 heating cooling periods, respectively; decreased by 1.2 °C extraction increased 4.4 emission, with (HP) working. showed cost-effective alternative GHX; further research needed application actual small buildings.
